TOP 50 GIRLS 1982-Present
(PRIOR TO 1982 CROSS COUNTRY RACES WERE NOT 5K)
A Note on the "Top 50" List
It's important to note that the list in its current form is in progress. This list is by no means definitive, although hopefully as records continue to be researched and reported it becomes a more accurate reflection of Genoa's rich history of running. Records after approximately 2010 have been easier to recover due to online reporting, but earlier records are more difficult. Even the OHSAA state meet kept records of only the top twenty individual runners for many years. Thus, former coaches and alumni have become the best sources of times run in the 80s and 90s. So while the list in current form reflects less then fifty times, eventually it will reach fifty.
For girls, only times under twenty-four minutes will be added. Note that the source for each time has been listed. For submitted times, some kind of verification is required; times will not be added based solely on word-of-mouth. In the case of a tie, or where the tenth of the second was not recorded, the athlete who achieved the time first will be placed above the athlete who achieved the same time after.
